Based at the track on Market Street, Bury (opposite Bury College), Bury Athletic Club is a nationally ranked athletics club with teams and individuals competing at the highest level.

We can provide you the opportunity to train and compete at whatever level you choose.

You can be part of a friendly athletics club with members from international athletes to fun runners – all enjoying taking part in a sport that provides the chance for everyone to find the event that suits them best.

CORE STRENGTH TRAINING

Coach John Conroy will be providing core strength training sessions primarily aimed at throwers and jumpers. However, John states that the sessions will be equally beneficial for runners and all under 17s and above who are interested should contact him.

The sessions will take place at the track each Sunday morning between 10.30 and 12.00 and will start on 4th September. They will focus on core strength and stability, light weight exercises, plyometric exercises and event specific exercises.

There is a significant amount of research showing that good core strength is the foundation for effective athletic performance.
